These workshops included the female as well as the male PhD students and were held on two different dates in order to maintain a suitable group size. On each of the two dates, a gender-mixed group of 7 and 5 PhD students, respectively, from both the German and the Chinese side took part. The two workshops formed part of the educational programme of the 4th block seminar held in Hohenheim from 09 to 16 March, 2020.

The workshop agenda consisted of Welcome and self-presentation, an Introduction to the basics of diversity including its different layers and dimensions, Dealing with unconscious bias and selective perception, Role conflicts based on personal experiences and peer consulting/role play, Transfer, Closing and Feedback. Due to her long-term working and teaching experience in China, the trainer was able to enrich Sino-German intercultural aspects with many specific examples. The two workshops were very well received by the participants.

It is planned to follow-up these workshops in the future with formats yet to be defined.
